Solarig and HSBC Fund develop 50 MW in Spain and Italy
Solarig and HSBC Environmental Infrastructure Fund (“HEIF”) have sealed an alliance for the development and construction of more than 50 MW of Photovoltaic (PV) projects in Spain and Italy.
A total investment of more than 200 M€ is expected.
Solarig will act as general contractor for the projects, being responsible for the construction including design, engineering and works management until the final connection to the grid. Solarig will also operate and maintain the plants once built, adding to the existing 22 MWs of PV assets that it has already developed and now operates.
The technologies chosen will be fixed structure systems with mono or polycrystalline modules and 500 kW inverters. Such technology has proven to be reliable and with less environmental impact than those systems based on large tracking systems.
HEIF and Solarig believe that there are substantial political, economic and environmental drivers creating compelling investment opportunities in the development of solar PV projects across these regions.
