Accelerating RE Growth: C&I Project Development in Asia

Robert Voskuilen is head of the Energy team for Eastern & Southern Africa at FMO. His specialism is renewable energy. He is a seasoned transaction leader in project finance and corporate finance in private sector infrastructure & (renewable) energy projects. Robert has been with FMO since 2007 and worked on projects in Latin America, Asia and Sub Sahara Africa. At FMO HE held various positions, amongst others as Principal Investment Officer Energy and as Manager Energy & Infrastructure funds. On behalf of FMO he is member of a several Advisory Boards of Energy Investment Funds. Prior to FMO he was Corporate Finance Manager at Royal VOPAK, an international tank storage and liquid bulk company. He started his professional career in the field of ship- finance at P&O Nedlloyd as a financial engineer. Robert holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration with a specialisation in Corporate Finance from the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University.

Mr S. Manikkan is the Executive Director and CEO of Radiance Renewables Private. Ltd (“Radiance”). Manikkan has 28 years of extensive experience in infrastructure and execution of large transactions both for private, public and Government sector. Prior to joining Radiance, Manikkan was the co-founder & Director of Origin Renewables Pvt. Ltd. (“Origin”). Radiance acquired Origin in March 2020 and is one of the fastest growing Renewable Energy developers in the C&I segment. Prior to founding Origin, Manikkan was the President- Infrastructure of ICICI Venture and co-headed the Infrastructure fund, focused on investment opportunities in energy, transport and renewable sectors. Manikkan also had a brief stint with Babcock & Brown India Private Limited as Managing Director (Head of Infrastructure). He has over two decades of experience in financial services across companies such as ICICI Venture, ABN AMRO, UBS Securities (India), SBC Warburg. Manikkan was awarded most powerful solar business leader in Indian PV market by Solar Quarter in 2021 and 2022.

Steve is overseeing the day-to-day operations of CN Green Roof Asia. He is driving company growth, developing strategic initiatives and promoting a positive company culture. CN Green Roof Asia operates in Indonesia and Vietnam. Prior to his work at CN Greef Roof Asia Steve was Technical Director at BECIS for 4 years.

Sameer is a senior climate finance professional with over 16 years of experience of investing across the value chain in sectors such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy access, infrastructure and financial services Currently, part of a global development focused asset manager pioneering financing to renewable energy and positive climate impact companies. He is spearheading a project aimed at launching a new climate finance fund focussed on Asia. Sameer is managing complete life cycle of transactions from sourcing, structuring, diligence, documentation, closing and monitoring.
